Meet the Band
The bass player and one of the featured frontline performers, Robert Brodie
is a real powerhouse when it comes to working the crowd with his infamous twenty minute workout, featuring hot tracks from
groups like Cameo pumping Word Up, and Single Life. Audiences all over have been captivated by this dominant phunkster.
Robert then strategically guides the crowd to the soulful and capable grip of his brother, Sidney
Brodie, the group's guitarist, leader and founder. Sidney sings a variety of styles of music.
Whether courting a soulful ballad or chartbusting pop, his delivery takes the audience on a musical journey that will be remembered
for a long time. Whatever the mood calls for... subtle gestures, tender moments... classic Vegas... it's all there...
witty interaction with the audience and enough charm and sex appeal to quicken the pulse of any woman. One of Sidney's
strong points at managing the group is his constant push for the family togetherness, a necessity in today's material world.
The tag-teaming style of the Brodie Brothers throughout the evening, no doubt, moves the crowd through every emotion
imaginable as the musical baton is passed throughout the evening to the youngest member of the Brodie family tradition.
Sidney "Breeze" Brodie, simply known as "Breeze", extraordinary drummer/vocals
is growing musically into a super talent. Breeze first cme on the scene with his Dad, Sidney at 10 years old.
Now 17, Breeze was taught his first beat at the tender age of 5 years old by his Dad on Christmas Day 1992. Breeze aspires
to be an all around entertainer, now working on vocals and studying Jazz. When it comes to describing this child protege...
you have to see it to believe it.
Valerie Brodie, female vocalist/percussionist and sister of Robert
and Sidney, dazzles the audiences with soft and upbeat tunes from Aretha Franklin's Respect to Etta James'
At Last. A definite favorite at weddings, Valerie rejoined the group in February 2003, adding a touch of class to this
already dynamic group of entertainers.

TBS Horns
Many bands of today have abandoned the idea of the horn section. The Brothership however continues the great traditions
of such noted horn bands of the 70s as Kool and The Gang, and Earth Wind and Fire by keeping the brass alive and well.
Upfront and personal, Bill McDowell, Trombone Player and
Brooklyn, NY native, now reside in Raleigh NC. Bill is a great talent with a dynamic stage presence. He began
his music career in junior High School with the marching band and since then has performed with the Duke University Jazz Ensemble
Army National Guard Band as well as other orchestras and area bands. Bill has been a member of The Brothership for four years
and counting.
Bill first heard about the position from a friend. This friend would be trumpet man, Marvin
Wofford of The Brothership for several years. Marvin is undoubtedly the front line party and all
around gifted musician who also plays keyboards and is one of the drummers in the band. The ladies love to dance
with Marvin Wofford of Spartanburg, SC. Marvin's road experience included brief stints with noted R & B greats of
the sixties such as Jerry Butler, the Yakaty Yaks, and Joe Simon. Marvin has a natural flair for what looks good on stage
in the way of dance routines and snazzy attire and will not hesitate to slide into impromtu dance moves, at times holding
entire audiences captive. But they are willing hostages to Marvin’s flair. Marvin now resides in Fayetteville North
Carolina.
The newest edition to The Brothership is Charlie Johnson, the saxophonist,
and retired Chief Master Sergeant of the United States Air force. Seeking to fulfill his life long dream of traveling
as a member of a working band, Charlie joined The Brothership two months after relocating to Durham North Carolina from Hickam,
Hawaii in June 2002. Along with his outgoing personality Charlie brings the experience and benefit of playing with such
noted greats as Etta James, Al Green, Z Z Hill, Denise Lasalle, and Johnny Taylor, just to name a few. Charlie humbly
admits that the highlight of his first career was touring with the United States Air Force “Tops in Blue“ as the
sax player.
Together Charlie, Bill and Marvin have become affectionately know as The “TBS Horns”.
